Reformist vs Revolutionary
Submitted by Seitcha

Im with Freedom on this one...I'm getting tired of the reformist approach to sign petitions, vote in federal or provincial or state elections, join a colonial party to have our oppressor grant us our freedom that they have historically and continue to legislatively oppress us with thru there colonial processes. Decolonization is NOT an agreement with your oppressor nor is it a friendly handshake, it is how Frantz Fanon calls it which is a violent phenomenon because our oppressors will not likely just hand over what they stole from us without putting up a fight. That fight is what 'FREEDOM' here is addressing and it is our responsibility to collectively strategize realistic goals to attain what is rightfully ours... which is our freedom that must be on all of minds everyday and not get distracted by anything. We should be making the top stories everynight on CNN or the Canadian National to force our colonial enemies to compromise rather our own people continuesly compromising in our search for freedom.
Thank you for opening up this discussion, Freedom, let us build on it!!

REPOST FROM FREEDOM

I’ve been getting a lot of bulletins lately asking me to sign some sort of petition to protest some type of unrighteous act or situation or to boycott a product because of something that the company did.

Maybe some of you don’t realize this, but we’re at war. In order to win a war you must KNOW YOUR ENEMY and know your enemy’s role… which is to destroy you. So what sense does it make to sign your name on a piece of paper denouncing something that your enemy has done against you? Are you serious??? These things aren’t done by accident or by lack of good judgment. Don’t you know he has an agenda? He’s doing what he’s supposed to do… destroy you. What YOU should be worried is what the fuck you’re doing to stop it.

Now look at history and tell me a time when a group of oppressed people all signed their names on a piece of paper and their problems were solved. Or tell me a time when they just asked for it or talked about it and it happened… you’re still stuck because that never happened either. What did happen though?

1794- HAITI
1959-CUBA
1962-ALGERIA
1966-CHINA
1968-THE CONGO
1969-LIBYA
1969-SOMALIA
1972-BENIN
1974-GUINEA BISSAU
1975-CAMBODIA
1975-LAOS
1975-MADAGASCAR
1975-CAPE VERDE
1975-MOZAMBIQUE
1975-ANGOLA
1979-GRENADA
1979-NICARAGUA
1983-BURKINA FASO
AND MANY OTHERS…

Armed struggle is what happened, in these places people didn’t sit on their computers and add their names to e-mailed petitions. They grabbed their weapon of choice and made shit happen… THAT’s REVOLUTION!! All this petition signing and boycotting appealing to your enemy that’s all REFORM.

You can’t solve any of our real problems by getting rid of the “symptoms” of white supremacy or capitalism or whatever you think the problem is, you have to get rid of the problem itself! To think otherwise is foolish and illogical. And that’s not to say that everyone has to pick up a gun… “I know some of you are scared to bleed”…

There are other important positions that need to be filled, not just frontline warriors. Shit even the warriors need to be doing other shit until it really pops off. But we should be righteously working towards Revolution every day in any way that we can, because right now…we’re failing, and part of the reason that we are is because we let ourselves get distracted with reform. And part of it is that we’re still scared… What are you scared of …FREEDOM?

"If one were forced for the sake of clarity to define fascism in a word
simple enough for all to understand, that word would be 'reform.'"
-George Jackson
