European Inventions...From China?
Written by Xiuhcoatl

Historians lead us to believe that "European weapons" were the cause for the destruction of indigenous civilizations. In reality, they played a relatively small role in the invasion. Smallpox, indigenous warriors who sided with the Spaniards, and the horse were far more decisive in the outcome of the war. But let’s pretend that they were the determining factor in the destruction of Amerindian civilizations. The Eurocentric point-of-view is as follows:

The primitive stone-age weapons of the Amerindians were no match for advanced European technology.

The more I studied into American genocide, the more I found this idiotic statement and ones similar to it. Then I began to study these advanced "European" inventions, namely steel, guns, canons and crossbows. It turns out that every invention that supposedly led to the conquering of the Native American civilizations was developed in China decades, if not centuries, before Europeans began to use them. Many of these technologies were traded on the silk road. Others eventually found their way to Europe by other means.

The following chart shows the date of discovery of several so-called "European" technologies by the Chinese:

7th Century BCE
Chinese invent crossbow
2nd Century BCE
Chinese invent steel
9th Century CE
Chinese invent gunpowder
1126 CE
First canon used in battle (by Chinese)
1288 CE
Chinese invent the firearm / gun
